Write your First-Stage Business Plan

Calling aspiring University of Cambridge entrepreneurs! Are you planning to write a business plan for a new venture? Perhaps you are considering applying for The 2023 Chris Abell Postdoc Business Plan Competition?

This session will provide University of Cambridge attendees with guidance on writing their first phase business plan. We will take information used during the initial business modelling session with Ludo and apply it when going through a basic template slide pack.

The event is ideal for anyone applying to The 2023 Chris Abell Postdoc Business Plan Competition (sponsored by Taylor Vinters, part of the Mischon de Reya group, Cambridge Innovation CapitalideaSpaceOxbridge Angels and CATS)

The session will be led by Ludo Chapman of The Innovation Practice. Ludo has over 30 years’ business experience launching and leading start-ups.

What will be included:

  • A walkthrough of a basic business plan template (you can download the template here)
  • If applying to the competition: what the judges will want to see in your application and why
  • A forum to ask questions.

This event is held in conjunction with the 2023 Chris Abell Postdoc Business Plan Competition and participants will find it useful if planning to enter the competition or as a standalone session.
