Cambridge Grand Challenges is an initiative designed to address local, national, and global issues
Cambridge Grand Challenges (CGC) is a collaborative initiative designed to address local, national, and global issues, promote interdisciplinary research and foster collaboration among researchers, industry and Government departments to find innovative solutions to some of the most significant challenges facing humanity today. Through partnerships with academia, government, and third sector organizations, CGC brings together experts to work on interdisciplinary projects in areas such as climate change, health, and social inequality.
Students from all disciplines can apply for internships in order to enhance skills and employability, and build on entrepreneurship abilities and leadership skills by working on solutions to real-world challenges.
Industry partners have the opportunity to work with students who bring academic knowledge and research skills to real-world projects. Examples include placements with BT, Unilever, Defra, Microsoft Research, Amazon, Genomics England, the Cabinet Office, Department for International Trade, Cambridge City Council, Newsec, and the UN.
Placements are one to six months, part time or full time. There is no cost to participating organizations.
