IfM Engage

IfM Engage provides business support, consultancy and executive education based on management and government policy research conducted at the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM).

IfM Engage works with start-ups, small and medium-sized enterprises, and large corporations from a broad range of sectors to help them develop strategies and enhance their capabilities. We work with governments and their agencies to provide policy evidence, help build capacity and facilitate policy dialogue.

Our work with start-ups and small companies focuses on enabling development and growth. Through a series of structured workshops, based on the IfM Strategic Compass methodology, the company directors and key stakeholders work with an expert facilitator to take a step back, determine strategic priorities and improve decision-making. Through the workshops, the organisation focuses on areas vital to achieving rapid scaling and attracting finance. The workshops help to:

  • Identify, prioritise and decide which opportunity(s) to focus on.
  • Develop a chosen future state/vision, and robust plans to achieve it.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and barriers to achieving the chosen future.
  • Develop strategic decision-making capabilities, enabling the alignment of leadership teams around the chosen future and how to achieve it.
