Innovation Centre in Digital Molecular Technologies Driving innovation in chemistry and AI through research and partnerships

Innovation Centre in Digital Molecular Technologies

The Innovation Centre in Digital Molecular Technologies (iDMT) is a research and collaboration hub based at the University of Cambridge, focused on applying AI, machine learning, and digital tools to molecular science and manufacturing.

Co-funded by academic, industry, and public partners, iDMT brings together researchers and companies to accelerate the discovery, development, and production of advanced molecules and materials. Its work spans areas such as pharmaceuticals, polymers, and chemical processes, with a strong emphasis on digital transformation.

The centre supports collaboration between academia and industry, helping organisations develop new products and services through access to expertise in areas such as AI‑driven discovery, robotics-based synthesis, and computational chemistry. It also provides resources, tools, and networks to support SMEs working in digital molecular technologies.

By combining research, infrastructure, and partnerships, iDMT plays a key role in advancing innovation at the intersection of chemistry, engineering, and data science.
