The OTR supports researchers to translate findings from research into practical health benefits

The Office for Translational Research (OTR)

The Office for Translational Research (OTR) supports researchers from the whole of the University of Cambridge, and associated hospitals – Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Cambridge and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust – in their efforts to translate findings from biological, biomedical or clinical research into health benefits for patients including new therapeutics, devices, diagnostics or other medical interventions.

The team are internal consultants who assess each researcher’s project in terms of where it sits in the translational pathway and provide a complete translational project life cycle support. They provide practical support in three major areas:

  • Make the right connections for the stage of your project
  • Source translational funding
  • Provide project management support to ensure that specific translational goals are achieved You can find them in the School of Clinical Medicine, above the café.
