The STEM Ideas Incubator consists of six afternoon sessions between January and March 2027.
Through practical workshops, one-to-one support and expert mentoring, participants build the skills, confidence and connections to explore opportunities beyond academia and decide what to do next with their research.
This programme is for academics and researchers who are exploring what their research results could lead to, including those considering translational proof-of-concept work to develop their results towards real-world application.
You do not need a business plan, commercialisation experience or industry contacts. However, you do need research outcomes that you think have impact beyond the lab.
Commercialisation can take many forms, such as licensing, industry partnerships, consultancy, joint development projects or spin-outs. The programme helps you work out which route suits your research best and what you need to do to move forward.
