A venture capital investor which focuses on the Cambridge ecosystem, Cambridge Innovation Capital (CIC) works closely with the University and has raised more than £500m of investment for its current portfolio of 40 companies. CIC is the most active Series A investor in Cambridge and has a team of sector experts as well as a network of investors, operators, entrepreneurs and scientists. CIC has also worked in partnership with the University, including a strategic alliance with Cambridge Enterprise, to define future strategies to enable the ecosystem to maintain its globally significant status. In addition, CIC is cofounder of two key accelerators in Cambridge – Deeptech Labs and Start Codon, demonstrating the organisation’s commitment to nurturing early-stage companies that have the potential to disrupt whole markets and sectors.
