Cambridge Med Tech Foundation Student Led Healthcare Innovators
The Innovation Programme is a four‑month, cohort‑based programme that introduces medical device development through interdisciplinary team projects.
Delivered by the Cambridge MedTech Foundation, it brings together students, researchers, and clinicians to work on real‑world clinical challenges identified by healthcare partners. Participants collaborate in small teams to develop early-stage solutions, supported by workshops and mentoring.
The programme covers key stages of MedTech innovation, including clinical problem identification, concept development, business modelling, and pitching. Teams produce an executive summary and present their ideas to a panel of experts from academia, industry, and clinical practice.
Workshops and mentoring are delivered in collaboration with partners across the Cambridge ecosystem, including clinicians, industry experts, and organisations such as Cambridge Judge Business School and Addenbrooke’s Hospital. Recent projects have explored areas such as surgical devices, neonatal monitoring, and digital health technologies.
Open to students and early‑career clinicians in Cambridge, the programme provides a practical introduction to healthcare innovation and an opportunity to develop ideas in a collaborative, real‑world setting.
