The Centre for Global Equality (CGE) is a Cambridge‑based organisation focused on developing and applying research‑driven solutions to challenges in global sustainable development.
CGE works across areas such as food, water, energy, health, and livelihoods, using an “inclusive innovation” approach to ensure that solutions are co‑created with the communities they are intended to benefit. It brings together partners from academia, government, civil society, and business to translate science and technology into practical, context‑appropriate impact.
Its activities span research, education, and venture development. Teaching and research collaborations are based within the University, while its Inclusive Innovation Hub in Cambridge supports extracurricular activities. Through programmes such as the Cultivator, CGE provides incubator‑style support for early‑stage projects and social enterprises working on sustainable development challenges.
CGE also collaborates with initiatives such as i‑Teams to help students and researchers explore how emerging technologies can be applied in low‑ and middle‑income countries, supporting the transition of ideas from research into real‑world solutions.
