King's E-Lab Hack the Law Cambridge

Hack the Law Cambridge

Hack the Law Cambridge is an interdisciplinary initiative led by King’s Entrepreneurship Lab at the University of Cambridge, bringing together students, researchers, and industry partners to explore innovation at the intersection of AI and law.

The initiative offers a set of connected programmes that support idea development, research, and venture creation in legal technology:

  • LLM x Law Hackathon
A team-based programme where students from any discipline collaborate to develop AI-powered solutions to real-world legal challenges. Participants prototype solutions, pitch to judges, and compete for prizes and further support.
  • AI x Law Conference
A one-day event bringing together law firms, legaltech companies, academics, and public sector organisations to share perspectives on emerging challenges and opportunities in AI and law.
  • Research Track
Opportunity for students to pitch research proposals in legal technology, with selected participants undertaking short-term research placements aimed at producing high-impact academic outputs.
  • Venture Pathway (SPARK Incubator)
Top hackathon teams receive fast-track access to an incubator programme, supporting the development of their ideas into early-stage ventures, culminating in a demo day.

The Hackathon is open to students at all levels (undergraduate, master’s, PhD) and from any discipline. You can participate in both the hackathon and research pitch competition.
